In Q4/2024, SOL E&C’s Sustainable Development Department launched a used battery collection initiative through the Green Station located at the company’s headquarters. After more than three months of implementation, the program has received strong support from employees, collecting over 5,200 used batteries, which were then transferred to specialized processing units. For every 15 batteries collected, SOL E&C will contribute one tree, supporting the restoration of Vietnam’s forest ecosystems.
Summarizing the Green Station, SOL E&C has collected 5,280 used batteries
Green Station is a pioneering initiative under the SABI sustainable development program. With the message "Small Actions, Big Impact," SABI introduces practical activities that not only contribute to environmental protection but also raise awareness of sustainability through small changes in daily habits. Since its launch, Green Station has not only helped employees gain a deeper understanding of the environmental hazards of used batteries but also provided guidance and facilitated proper collection and disposal methods.
Employees actively support battery collection at green station
After more than three months of implementation, Green Station has received enthusiastic participation from employees across construction sites and office departments, collecting 5,283 used batteries. Most of the collected batteries come from daily activities at home and the workplace, where they are sorted at the collection station before being transferred to specialized processing units.
Over 5,200 used batteries handed over for specialized processing
Mr. Lê Thanh Hải, an employee of SOL E&C, contributed more than 65 used batteries to the Green Station and shared: "Understanding the environmental hazards of used batteries, my family has always made it a habit to store them separately. These are batteries collected from our household activities, but we haven’t always had time to bring them to local disposal sites. Green Station makes it much more convenient for employees to practice ESG in daily life."
Similarly, Ms. Lương Thị Mỹ Hạnh shared how Green Station has changed her habits. Previously, she would discard used batteries in the trash. However, she has now created a dedicated battery collection box at home, where she stores used batteries before bringing them to the Green Station at the company.
Going forward, Green Station will remain at the company’s headquarters, continuing to support a greener and more sustainable living environment.
