On December 3rd, in Dong Nai province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conducted an inspection and urged the acceleration of the Long Thanh Airport project and the Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Expressway. This marks the fifth time the Prime Minister has visited the Long Thanh Airport construction site, following inspections during the Lunar New Year periods of 2022, 2023, 2024, and in September 2024. After the on-site inspection, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting with relevant ministries, agencies, and local authorities.
Prime Minister Visits Project Management Team
The Long Thanh International Airport is the largest airport project ever undertaken in Vietnam, holding immense significance for the socio-economic development of the Southeast region and the entire country. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh commended the project’s progress, highlighting several remarkable achievements. Substantial portions of the overall project have been completed, with the structure becoming increasingly apparent. Many project packages, particularly components 2 and 3, have surpassed their scheduled progress, supported by the mobilization of over 6,000 personnel and 2,200 construction machines on-site.
Positive Progress in Project Implementation
Looking ahead, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for a clear delineation of "roles, tasks, timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables." He noted that success hinges on timely decisions, commitment, and efficient resource management. All work must be completed by December 31, 2025, with Long Thanh Airport slated for operation by February 28, 2026.
The Prime Minister stressed that while progress is paramount, stringent oversight must be maintained to enhance quality, ensure occupational safety, uphold technical and aesthetic standards, protect the environment, and safeguard local livelihoods. Additionally, preparations for the second phase of the Long Thanh International Airport project should commence promptly, leveraging the existing workforce and machinery already on-site.
Prime Minister Sets Deadline for Completion by December 31, 2025
At the working session, representatives of various agencies discussed and clarified specific challenges related to the implementation of Long Thanh Airport’s packages and the associated transport connectivity projects.
In this significant project, SOL E&C is a key member of the Vietur consortium, responsible for the construction of the left wing of the central terminal at Long Thanh International Airport. Taking charge of its assigned tasks, SOL E&C has proactively developed detailed construction plans, ensured seamless coordination with stakeholders, and focused on mobilizing manpower and equipment. As a result, SOL E&C has made a substantial contribution to completing its assigned packages ahead of schedule, playing a pivotal role in the overall success of the project.
