SOL E&C completes and hands over M&E system at the largest Coca-Cola Plant in Vietnam

With extensive experience as a general contractor for numerous FDI projects, SOL E&C has once again reinforced its brand reputation by successfully completing and handing over the M&E system for Coca-Cola Vietnam’s largest plant, located in Long An Province.

Vietnam’s largest Coca-Cola plant upholds stringent standards for project quality and execution.

The Coca-Cola Vietnam Plant in Long An represents a total investment of over VND 3,100 billion and is built on a 19-hectare site within Phú An Thạnh Industrial Park. With this new facility, Coca-Cola Vietnam aims to enhance production capacity, optimize resource efficiency, and implement a smart factory model with cutting-edge technologies. Once fully operational, the Long An Plant is expected to achieve a maximum annual capacity of 1 billion liters, making it the largest among Coca-Cola’s four manufacturing facilities currently operating in Vietnam.

To meet the stringent quality requirements and international standards, Coca-Cola, as the client, has partnered with top-tier industry leaders, including Tetra Pak, Krones, and KHS as technology contractors, HaskoningDHV as the project management consultant, and Newtecons and SOL E&C as the construction and M&E contractors.

As the contractor, SOL E&C is responsible for executing the entire M&E package and essential utility systems for the project. This includes electrical systems, extra-low voltage (ELV) systems, HVAC, fire protection, water supply and drainage. Notably, SOL E&C has also installed auxiliary equipment systems, storage tanks, and process pipelines (NaOH, DO, RO, LN2, CO2, N2 Liquid, N2 Gas, Steam, process chillers, steam systems, etc.). Additionally, SOL E&C has coordinated with technology contractors to connect, test, and fine-tune the entire M&E system (T&C), ensuring stable and seamless operation.

As part of the M&E package for the project, SOL E&C worked closely with Coca-Cola to conduct surveys, propose solutions, and execute the relocation of M&E equipment from the Coca-Cola Ho Chi Minh City plant to the new Long An facility. The process of isolating, transporting, and reinstalling critical operating M&E systems required extensive expertise from the contractor, along with seamless coordination between SOL E&C, the client, and other stakeholders. The relocation not only had to be carried out safely and efficiently but also had to ensure uninterrupted operations at the Coca-Cola Ho Chi Minh City plant, preventing any disruptions to production during the transition.

The expertise and experience of SOL E&C have been one of the key factors in the success of the Coca-Cola Long An Plant

With extensive experience in executing large-scale and complex M&E systems, including UNIBEN Bình Dương Plant, Milwaukee Plant, Tetra Pak Bình Dương Plant, and Hồng Ngọc – Phúc Trường Minh General Hospital, SOL E&C has consistently demonstrated its exceptional capabilities and proactive approach in project execution.

By deploying an experienced team that has worked on numerous technically demanding projects and integrating BIM and Revit models from the initial stages, SOL E&C's engineering team conducted in-depth feasibility analyses and implemented strict risk management measures. This approach not only ensured construction quality and project timeline adherence but also optimized maintenance and servicing space for the system during operation, delivering long-term value to the client.

With multiple contractors working simultaneously on the project, close coordination during construction played a essential role in delivering optimal technical solutions and enhancing efficiency for the Client. Understanding this, SOL E&C established a highly specialized team that worked flexibly with the Project Management Board and all stakeholders to align on execution plans. Additionally, SOL E&C contributed to system integration by calculating and proposing optimal solutions, including construction coordination, handover and connection procedures, Testing & Commissioning (T&C), and operational data collection for system fine-tuning and optimization.

As of now, four out of six production lines have been completed and put into operation. SOL E&C’s team continues to collaborate closely with the technology contractors and Project Management Board to oversee and monitor operations, ensuring compliance with the Client’s stringent standards while also aiming for LEED Gold Certification and FM Approvals.

Sharing his thoughts on SOL E&C’s team, Mr. Joachim Scholtyssek, Senior Advisor at Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam, highly praised the engineers’ expertise and experience. He acknowledged their outstanding performance, enthusiasm, intelligence, technical proficiency, and youthful energy. He also emphasized that SOL E&C’s engineers were highly receptive and responsive to Coca-Cola’s requirements. The Coca-Cola Long An Plant project is expected to lay a solid foundation for future collaboration between the two companies.
